On "Watch What Happens Live," host Andy Cohen asked the actress which film had paid her the largest salary, hinting that it might be "The Lord of the Rings."
Cate Blanchett responded with, "Are you kidding me?" and said, "No, nobody paid me anything to make that film."
Blanchett's answer caused surprise in the studio. She elaborated,
'I can tell you about my salary for 'The Lord of the Rings': I only got free sandwiches and had to hold up my elf ears.' She then added, 'Women don’t get paid as much as you think.'
