Karahan, who was rushed into emergency surgery due to high fever and suspicion of infection during a routine doctor's visit, shared the latest information about her health condition and explained what had happened from her hospital room after the operation. Prior to her operation, Basak Karahan had shared on her social media account that she was admitted to the hospital due to a high fever, and she revealed that doctors suspected a piece of placenta left in her uterus.
Initial assessments suggested a closed operation that was expected to take around 30-40 minutes. However, an unforeseen development occurred during the surgery.
According to Karahan's statement after the surgery, doctors discovered that what was thought to be remnants of the placenta was in fact a fibroid that had burst and started to disintegrate.
Consequently, the course of the operation took a drastic turn.
The medical team, during the surgery, urgently sought approval from her husband Halil Ünlü and transitioned from a closed operation to an open surgery under general anesthesia. Başak Karahan explained that due to this unexpected development, she remained in surgery for a significantly longer period than initially planned.
Addressing her followers from her hospital room, Karahan summarized her experience with these words:
'I vanished for hours after promising to return in one. I underwent a major surgery. It was just like a cesarean section. I'm in quite a bit of pain. It feels as if I've given birth all over again.'
The famous influencer noted that her pain persisted after the operation, but assured that her overall condition was under control.
