American Tourist Left in Shock After Encountering Local Toilet System in Turkey
Every country has its own unique habits, customs, and systems. All of these stem from the country's needs and lifestyle, and over time, they become the norm. What is quite ordinary in one country can seem 'brilliant' to someone from another country.
An American tourist visiting Turkey, named 'christian.grossi', was taken aback when he encountered the hygienic toilet seat cover system in public restrooms for the first time. He documented his surprise and shared the footage with his followers, describing it as 'the craziest thing I've ever seen.'

So, how does this toilet system, which leaves tourists in shock, operate?
The system featured in the video is an automatic plastic covering mechanism used in crowded venues in Turkey to ensure hygiene. When you approach your hand to the sensor, the disposable plastic roll on the toilet seat spins, collecting the used surface to one side and laying down a completely clean, sterile layer on the seating area. This is a solution specifically developed to alleviate hygiene concerns stemming from skin contact in public restrooms.
For the foreign traveler who shot the video, this situation is quite surprising because this technology is not widespread in every country. Generally, abroad, either disposable papers are used or only disinfectant sprays are available.
