At the auction, there was a veritable fortune war among the wealthy for the SIM card with the number '058 777 7777'. This unique number, which harbors the digit '7' seven times, had an opening price set at a mere 100,000 dirhams. However, with the successive bids made by the businesspeople and collectors filling the room, the price skyrocketed within seconds. In the end, the highest bidder became the owner of the number by shelling out 3.2 million dirhams (approximately 36 million TL).
This wasn't the only number that caught the eye at the auction; another combination bearing the power of the number seven, "054 555 5555," also found a buyer at a staggering price of 2.875 million dirhams.
Behind these astronomical expenditures was actually a global humanitarian aid project. The event was organized in support of the 'Mothers Foundation' campaign, initiated by the Emir of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, with a goal to raise 1 billion dirhams.
Throughout the auction, a total of 38 million dirhams (approximately 425 million TL) was raised from the sale of 10 luxury car plates and 21 unique phone numbers, with all proceeds being donated to the foundation. Moreover, even before this event, Dubai made global headlines when a plate consisting solely of the letter and number 'P7' was sold for 55 million dirhams (approximately 124 crore rupees).
