Turkish TV Ratings For October 19-25: Taşacak Bu Deniz Leads, Sevdam Karadeniz Finishes Last
The ratings table is out for the 22 Turkish series that aired new episodes in the week of October 19-25. TRT 1's Taşacak Bu Deniz once again finished first in all three audience groups: Total, AB and ABC1.
The surprise came from the AB list, where Nurgül Yeşilçay's new series Ömür Usta moved ahead of Yeraltı and Kızılcık Şerbeti to become the week's second most-watched show. At the very bottom of the table sits Sevdam Karadeniz, a series reported to be heading for an early finale.
Taşacak Bu Deniz stayed on top of all three lists, but slipped below 10 in ABC1.
Starring Deniz Baysal and Ulaş Tuna Astepe, the TRT 1 series Taşacak Bu Deniz scored 9.81 in Total, 7.83 in AB and 9.69 in ABC1 with its October 23 episode. That made it the highest-rated series of the week in every category once more.
The numbers were slightly softer than the week before. On October 16 the show had passed the 10 mark in ABC1 with 10.35; this week it lost 0.66 points there, 0.35 points in AB and 0.14 points in Total.
Its lead is still comfortable. Taşacak Bu Deniz finished 2.13 points ahead of second-placed Yeraltı in Total and 1.81 points ahead of Yeraltı in ABC1. In AB, the gap to its closest rival was 1.29 points.
Nurgül Yeşilçay's Ömür Usta beat Yeraltı and Kızılcık Şerbeti to take second place in AB.
Ömür Usta, the new series led by Nurgül Yeşilçay, scored 7.07 in Total with its 5th episode on October 25, finishing 5th overall. In AB, however, it reached 6.54 and moved past Yeraltı (5.80) and Kızılcık Şerbeti (5.78) into second place. In ABC1 it was 4th with 6.62.
A big gap on Monday night
The biggest difference between Total and AB came from the Monday series. ATV's Altı Üstü İstanbul was 3rd in Total with 7.47 and 3rd in ABC1 with 6.66, but only 10th in AB with 4.14. Its Monday rival, the Kanal D series Uzak Şehir, finished just 0.02 points behind in Total for 4th place and came 8th in AB with 4.93.
Kızılcık Şerbeti, which had climbed to 7.06 in AB on October 16 with the first episode by its new writers, fell to 5.78 in the same category on October 23.
Sevdam Karadeniz finished last among the week's 22 series in Total, AB and ABC1.
NOW's Monday series Sevdam Karadeniz scored 1.84 in Total, 1.04 in AB and 1.58 in ABC1 with its 2nd episode on October 19, putting it at the bottom of all three lists. Starring Meltem Akçöl and Erdem Adilce, the series had drawn 2.11 in Total with its first episode on October 12.
After the drop, journalist Birsen Altuntaş reported that NOW had decided to end the series with its 4th episode. The 3rd episode, aired on October 26, fell further to 1.25 in Total and 0.79 in AB. If the schedule stays the same, Sevdam Karadeniz will say goodbye with its 4th episode on Monday, November 2.
Show TV's Muhtemel Aşk was second to last in all three lists with 1.95 in Total, 1.94 in AB and 2.37 in ABC1.
