Born into a poor farming family in China's Henan region, Li Chuangye became unable to walk after contracting polio at seven months old.
Her dream of receiving an education at a young age was left unfinished due to peer bullying and illness. At the age of nine, her family went into debt for a surgery to fix her legs, but the operation was unsuccessful. During this process, Li, who had given up on life, found hope again with her mother's words, 'You can speak, that's a miracle in itself.'
After a while, a man who came to their village offered him a chance to earn money under the pretext of 'selling fragrance' in temples.
However, this offer was a trap that led to a begging gang. Li was forced to beg on the streets for seven years. He describes those years as 'like hell'; filled with both physical pain and days full of shame.
A newspaper he found on the street at the age of 16 changed his life 180 degrees.
He realized that he was illiterate and returned to his village and decided to start school. He continued his education with great determination, starting from the second grade of primary school. Despite the difficulties, he did not give up. Over the years, he graduated from high school and was accepted to the medical faculty at the age of 25.
She faced many difficulties at school due to physical barriers, but she never backed down.
He started mountain climbing to increase his strength. He reached the top of Tai Mountain in five days on his first attempt, with his hands covered in blood. These climbs quickly attracted great interest on social media.
Today, Dr. Li Chuangye is practicing medicine in a rural clinic in the Xinjiang region of China. His patients call him the 'miracle doctor'. Despite the pain he experienced in the past, he harbors no hatred towards anyone. 'Those years were a part of my life,' he says.
The miracle doctor, despite everything he has been through, is still standing. He summarizes the lesson he has learned in one sentence as follows:
