Sweden is Giving Away Free Islands!
Sweden has made a decision that has left the world in awe: they will be giving away islands for free. Five distinct islands will become the 'island guardian's' domain for a year. Interestingly enough, applications from millionaires are not being accepted and applications will be made via video. The aim of this unusual move is to boost Sweden's tourism revenue.
Sweden is giving away islands for free.

The Swedish Tourism Office, Visit Sweden, has launched a campaign that has caught the attention of the world. Five unique islands will be entrusted to an 'island guardian' for a year. Moreover, the winners of the island lottery will also receive a round-trip flight ticket for two to Sweden.
The person who wins the Swedish island lottery will not be able to make money from the island. In other words, the island will not be entirely yours. During the time the island is in your possession, you can camp, invite your friends, and enjoy your time on the island, as long as you respect the environment.
The only thing you need to do to apply is to make a video. In the video that you will share on social media with the hashtag YourSwedishIsland, you are expected to talk about why you want the island. We should also note that billionaires are not allowed to participate in this lottery.
The islands to be given as gifts are as follows:
- Medbadan
- Flisan
- Storberget
- Tjuvholmen
- Marsten
