Pencil Case Banned Over Dangerous Chemical Risks
Following inspections by the Ministry of Trade, the sale of the 'Mikro' brand pencil case was banned. It was stated in a post made via the Unsafe Product Information System (UPIS) that the pencil case was found to have a high chemical content.

The Ministry of Trade continues to enforce a zero-tolerance policy against products that pose a direct threat to children's health. A critical warning has been issued to parents and students who will be shopping for school supplies ahead of the new academic year. As a result of the inspections carried out by the Ministry, a pencil case widely sold in the market was found to contain hazardous chemical substances far exceeding the legal limit. Following the analyses, the sale of the said product was halted, and a decision was made to recall it from the market.
Chemicals were detected at levels exceeding the limits.
The data obtained from audit activities were shared with the public through the Unsafe Product Information System (UPIS). According to the shared information, serious health risks were identified in a pencil case model belonging to the 'Micro' brand, which students heavily use in their daily educational life. It has been documented that the materials used in the production of the product contain chemicals far beyond the limits permitted by the legislation.
In the statement made, it was mentioned, 'As a result of the analyses conducted, the product was found to contain Phthalate, Cadmium, and some organic pollutant values above the limit values.'
