Istanbul Heatwave Warning: Temperatures to Hit 36°C
AKOM has issued a critical warning for Istanbul. Announcing that the temperature in the metropolis will reach 36 degrees, AKOM stated that the scorching heat will be effective for 710 days. According to the statement, the temperature will peak on Thursday.
Istanbul is bracing itself for a scorching heatwave! A double whammy of hot air waves is on the way, both from Africa and the Persian Gulf.
The Disaster Coordination Center of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (AKOM) has released its weekly weather forecast report. According to the published data, no precipitation is expected in Istanbul in the coming days, while scorching temperatures are set to adversely affect daily life. The mercury will hit peak numbers due to the impact of dual heatwaves coming from both Africa and the Basra region.
Along with a large portion of Turkey, Istanbul has also fallen under the influence of air masses originating from Basra and Africa. AKOM stated that the high temperatures will persist for a period of 7 to 10 days. The heat, coupled with the humidity, will reach oppressive levels.

From the start of the week, temperatures have been gradually climbing, expected to peak on Thursday. The temperature is forecasted to fluctuate between 34 and 36 degrees Celsius.
