The culprits of the robbery that took place at a Deutsche Bank branch in the city of Lübeck, Germany, last December, remain at large. The victims, from whom gold, jewelry, and money were stolen from 371 safe deposit boxes in the bank, announced that a total reward of 290,000 Euros will be offered to those who can assist in catching the thieves.

While the investigation related to the incident has yet to yield concrete results, Detective Josef Resch, who the victims have engaged to aid in the capture of the four suspects, has made significant statements to the German press.

They carried a portable toilet to avoid leaving behind a trace of their DNA.

Detective Resch stated that the robbers hid in the upper floor of the bank, staying there overnight to pull off the heist. He revealed that they had brought along a portable toilet to avoid leaving any DNA traces.

As part of the investigation, Resch conveyed that the robbers smuggled the mobile toilet into the bank inside a suitcase. The thieves, who waited in the bank until the end of the working day, cracked open 371 safes after hours to carry out the theft. They managed to escape through the back door just moments before the police arrived in response to the morning alarm. In their bid to leave no DNA evidence behind, they took the portable toilet with them as well.

The security vulnerabilities related to the robbery are still under investigation.

Detective Resch announced that victims of the theft involving jewels, gold, and cash from the bank would offer a total reward of 290,000 Euros to anyone who could provide information about the thieves.

Resch stated that an individual had reached out to him, suggesting that some acquaintances who had recently been living a luxurious lifestyle could potentially be suspects. In December 2024, a heist took place in the city of Lübeck, Germany, where approximately 300 kilograms of gold and jewels, along with a substantial amount of cash, were stolen from a Deutsche Bank branch. The investigation into the theft, which amounted to a total value of 18 million Euros, has yet to reach a conclusion.

Unanswered questions remain, such as how the robbers managed to go unnoticed while hiding in the bank, why the alarm system didn't activate until 5:00 AM, and why the motion detectors failed to operate.
