Fed Up with Dating Apps, She Created a 'Husband Application Form'
A woman who claims to have tried everything from dating apps, friend introductions, to real-life meetings, has chosen an entirely different approach to find her husband: a 'husband application form' prepared like a job advertisement.
According to a report by the New York Post, 36-year-old Arin Patterson, residing in the city of Charlotte in the state of North Carolina, USA, added a three-page Google form to her Instagram profile at the end of August. During the application period, which closed on September 30, a total of 241 men applied via the form. Patterson also mentions receiving between 1,000 and 1,500 messages.

He created a massive application form.
After breaking off her engagement in 2019, Patterson relocated to Charlotte for a fresh start in the wake of the pandemic. Having been single for approximately three years, she decided to explore various dating apps.
In a conversation with the New York Post, Patterson shared that a significant portion of her dates were initiated through these dating apps, although she also met people in person and was always open to introductions through mutual acquaintances. Inspired by her parents' 44-year marriage, Patterson explained that she arrived at this unique idea after trying everything she knew.
What does this form contain?
Patterson introduces herself first in a form titled, 'Well... Are you interested?' She describes herself as a lively human being, optimistic, cheerful, slightly goofy, kind, and sincere. She adds that she is a recent graduate student and that learning and development are at the core of her character.
In the form, she expresses her openness to meeting a handsome, smart, kind, loyal, and generous man who enjoys coffee and dinner dates, good conversations, and is interested in seeing where things might lead.
Application requirements: Aged between 28-47, at least 1.78m tall.
Patterson's 'minimum requirements' are as follows: to be between the ages of 28 and 47, to be Christian, to be single and ready for love, and to ultimately desire to be a husband and father.
Preferred attributes include having at least a bachelor's degree and being 5 feet 10 inches tall, or approximately 1.78 meters or taller. Patterson justifies this requirement by explaining that she stands about 1.73 meters tall in flat shoes and 1.83 meters in heels.
Applicants are asked to answer a variety of questions, from what they are looking for in a partner to a topic they could 'talk about for an unreasonable amount of time'.
Social media was split in two.
Patterson's initiative has created quite a stir on social media. While some users applauded his bravery and clear intentions, others found his job application-like approach to flirting rather peculiar. Among the commenters were potential candidates who expressed, 'If this is real, I'm open to a conversation.'
Patterson is aware that there may be those who label him as 'desperate.' However, he emphasizes that wanting something doesn't equate to being hopelessly needy. He asserts that he knows exactly what he wants and he's doing it in a fun way, but in reality, he's utterly serious.
Patterson will now review all the applications he has received, meet and converse with suitable candidates. If this audacious move ends with a ring, he says he would be 'very happy and pleasantly surprised.'
