Extreme Heatwave Hits Istanbul: Midnight Humidity
Turkey is about to experience the scorching heatwaves originating from both Africa and the Persian Gulf. According to forecasts shared by the Turkish State Meteorological Service (MGM) and the Disaster Coordination Center of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (AKOM), temperatures are set to reach record-breaking levels. For the next 10 days, the heat will persist above seasonal norms. The peak hours for humidity levels, accompanying the heat, have also been announced.

A scorching heatwave from Basra and Africa has swept into the country. This double whammy of sweltering heat is set to exceed critical thresholds in the Aegean and Southeastern Anatolia regions. According to weather forecast reports, thermometers in Southeastern Anatolia will surpass 42 degrees. In Aydin, the temperature is expected to reach up to 45 degrees by Sunday. Weather experts are issuing warnings for citizens with chronic illnesses, the elderly, and children to refrain from venturing out during the hottest hours of the day during this period of soaring temperatures.
A warning has been issued for Istanbul for 3:00 AM.
Last week, Istanbul experienced cool days due to the influence of the north wind. A warning for 3:00 am was issued for the city. According to the data from the General Directorate of Meteorology (GDM), the humidity level in Istanbul will climb up to 91 percent between 3:00 and 6:00 am tonight.
