The long-standing question of smartphone users, 'Should I charge my phone to 100%?' is finally being answered with scientific facts. Experts and tech giants are emphasizing the necessity of limiting the phone's charge to 80% in order to prolong battery life.
The operating principle of Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries used in smartphones is likened to the water-holding capacity of a sponge.
Just as a completely dry sponge becomes rigid, a sponge fully saturated with water is under heavy pressure.
The same principle applies to batteries: The optimal level for battery health is between 20% and 80%. Within this range, lithium ions move without stress.
