Automotive Giant Ford Recalls 140,000 Vehicles in the US Due to Critical Fire Risk
Automotive giant Ford has initiated an extensive recall operation in the United States for its popular pickup model, the Ranger. This decision, which affects approximately 140,000 vehicles, was taken in response to the identification of a serious security flaw in the vehicles. It has been indicated that there is a risk of fire in the vehicles, and dealers will be conducting inspections on the vehicle cables.

Investigations conducted by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) have uncovered a manufacturing defect in the cable assembly in the roof and sun visor area of Ranger vehicles. It was revealed that cable bundles, which have been improperly positioned or possess non-standard tape thickness, could over time cause a short circuit, leading to potential fire hazards. This risk, particularly concentrated in the area known as the 'A pillar,' not only brings about the possibility of material damage but also poses a significant threat to life and increases the risk of accidents.

In the US, 140,000 vehicles have been recalled due to a fire risk. Through its dealerships, Ford has initiated an operation where the cable installations in the vehicles will be inspected by expert teams. All wiring harnesses found to be damaged will be replaced with new ones. In addition to physical intervention, the Body Control Module (BCM) software of the vehicles will also be updated, thus ensuring full protection of the electrical systems.
These procedures will be carried out free of charge at Ford dealerships.
