An Elderly Couple Married for 67 Years Revealed the Secret to Their Happiness
Living in a village in Amasya, a couple who have been married for 67 years point to 'loving each other' and 'not hurting each other' as the secret to their happiness. Ibrahim, 87, and Munever Esen, 90, still love each other as if it were the first day.
These age-old sycamores, who have hung their side-by-side photographs in a prominent place in their room, were gifted with a 'marriage certificate' document from the population archives dating back to 67 years ago.

In the village of Gümüştepe, tied to the Merzifon district of Amasya, the Esen couple, who are among the eldest in the village and have been making a living as farmers for many years with their four children, offered advice to newlyweds and married couples.
Münevver Esen, who has been living in a two-room house with a stove for many years, pointed out, 'We've reaped and sown, worked in the threshing floor. We've worked hard. But we've always supported each other. Stand by each other. Never let go of your loved ones.'
Ibrahim, aged 87, and Münevver Esen, aged 90, still love each other as if it were the first day. They say the secret to their happiness lies in their love for each other and their commitment to never hurt one another.
The couple was presented with two "marriage certificate" documents as a gift.

Amasya Governor Önder Bakan made a thoughtful gesture by presenting a couple, whom he visited in their village on their wedding anniversary, with a 'marriage certificate' document issued in 1959.
Ebru Akbulut, one of the younger villagers who expressed great affection for the oldest couple in the village, stated, 'We, the unmarried ones, look up to our couple who love and respect each other.'
