Synopsis

The docuseries focuses on Ervin Johnson’s (playing Magic Johnson) real-life chronicles; Barry expects to achieve the best reputation on and off his court duties. It also focuses on Magic’s effect on basketball ball back at Michigan State.

Trailer and Plot

The official trailer kicks off with Johnson displeased with his label “Magic,” as he thinks nobody would carry him seriously with such a name.

After playing LA Lakers for thirteen seasons, Magic retired involuntarily in 1991 when he got HIV. He still played on and off till he officially withdrew in 1996. Since then, Magic has become an activist for HIV/AIDS prevention and a great icon to the community.

The player’s Magic Foundation of 1991 supported community affairs based on health, education, and social needs. Magic retired with a total of thirty-two jerseys.

Crew and Cast Members

Rick Famuyiwa of Dope (2015) and some episodes of The Chi (Showtime) is the director of this four-part documentary series. The film also features EJ Johnson, Cookie Johnson, LL Cool J, Larry Bird, Samuel L. Jackson, Snoop Dogg, Shaquille O’Neil, and Michael Jordan (The Last Dance).

Other characters include Barrack Obama (US’s former President), Pat Riley, Jerry West, Dwayne Wade, Fred Stabley Jr., and Michael Wilbon.
