A Man Shares His Full Journey Through Limb Lengthening Surgery: Challenges, Recovery, and the Final Results

A young individual who underwent this leg lengthening surgery shared their experience. The process, filled with pain, infections, and psychological wear and tear, has led many to question, 'Why?'

Initially, he underwent surgery on his femur at the start of 2023, followed by another operation on his lower leg bone in 2025. As a result, he grew approximately 20 cm, stretching from 171 cm to 191 cm in height.
Throughout the process, devices that gradually extend the legs by separating the bone (fixators and nails) have been installed. Naturally, overcoming the psychological aspect of this has not been a breeze. In the video, he candidly reveals that he suffered panic attacks, endured severe pain, and even considered giving up out of regret at one point.
Moreover, an infection developed in his leg during the recovery process, further complicating matters. At the end of the process, intensive rehabilitation is required to walk as before. He mentions that he performs stretching exercises for 2 hours a day and attempts to take 10,000 steps a day with crutches.
After the surgeries, he had to relearn walking, running, and cycling. At the end of a year, he announced the completion of the process by sharing the final state of his legs and the scars from the surgery.
