Two Turkish Dishes Have Received Geographical Indication Registration from the EU!

Ibrahim Yumaklı, the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, announced that Turkey has obtained new product registration from the European Union (EU). Geographical indication registration was granted to two irresistible flavors from Bursa and Edirne. Consequently, our count of products with geographical indication registration, which includes delights such as baklava, apricots, figs, and cheese, has risen to 42.

The geographical indication registration was announced by the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, İbrahim Yumaklı, via his social media account. Yumaklı stated, 'With Bursa chestnut candy and İpsala rice receiving geographical indication registration from the EU, the number of our registered products has risen to 42. Our products with geographical indications will add prosperity to the fertile lands of their regions. May it bring good fortune.'

İpsala rice became the 41st Turkish product to receive registration from the EU, while Bursa chestnut candy became the 42nd.

It was reported that in 2025, a total of 13 new products from our country were registered in the EU. The year 2025 was highlighted as the year with the highest annual registration for our country to date.
