Bradley Cooper Makes a Candid Revelation About a New 'Hangover' Film

For those unfamiliar, "The Hangover" is a comedy film released in 2009.
With a fantastic sense of humor, 'The Hangover' stands out as an entertaining film that avoids typical Hollywood comedic clichés. The story begins with four quirky friends going to Las Vegas for a bachelor party two days before their friend's wedding. They wake up in their hotel room the morning after the party, drunk, surrounded by a tiger, chickens, and a six-month-old baby crying in the closet. To make matters worse, the groom is missing! The trio, still trying to clear their foggy memories from the night before, must follow clues to discover how things spiraled out of control. Most importantly, they need to find the groom and get him to the wedding in Los Angeles.
While Cooper's current agreement for a new "Hangover" film is not final, the actor seems genuinely enthusiastic about the idea.
Cooper expressed his approval for the concept during a question-and-answer session with Deadline's Pete Hammond at the Barbara International Film Festival, where he received the Outstanding Actor of the Year award. It's essential to note that during the Oscar season, nominees often make numerous press appearances, and they may say yes to ideas without a firm commitment. However, Cooper appeared quite excited about the concept.
Cooper also revealed his genuine affection for the "Hangover" team and expressed happiness about working with them again.
'I would do it in a heartbeat,' said Cooper. 'Working with those guys... As you get older, you realize what's essential is the people when you're doing the work. So, that group of people is just amazing. We loved every movie we made together, and I would do it instantly.'
Cooper also shared memories of working on the first film, which was a massive success directed by Todd Phillips in 2009 and resulted in two sequels.
'This changed my life. It was incredible. And that group of people - Todd Phillips and DP Larry Sher, everyone. We didn't know what we were doing. We weren't even sure it was a comedy,' he said, eliciting laughter from the audience.
Cooper, still fondly reminiscing about the memories from the filming location, shared a humorous anecdote about the "Caesars Palace" hotel.
'We were at Caesar's Palace, staying there. And we'd come back at night, and I'd still have tiger scratches on my neck, and we'd be in the elevator. People didn't care. You know, it's Vegas. I have tiger claw marks on my neck, and no one even looked at us.'
Cooper recalled receiving the first hint of how successful the film might be while filming a scene with Ken Jeong, who played gangster Mr. Chow.
Cooper understood the film's potential success during the scene where Ken Jeong's character, Mr. Chow, jumps naked out of the trunk of a car. Cooper described the moment, saying, 'We all looked at each other: This movie is a winner. Turn the script into cash, boys.'
"The Hangover" may seem like a departure from Cooper's recent Oscar-quality work.
Although Cooper received three Oscar nominations for 'A Star Is Born,' including Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Actor, 'The Hangover' was the film that caught the attention of Brad Pitt, who presented Cooper with the festival award.
Brad Pitt praised "The Hangover" as the film where Cooper truly shone.
Pitt commended Cooper during an accolade, stating, 'The first film that caught my attention and got me to start taking notes was 'The Hangover' for Bradley. And really, if you look closely, amid all the chaos of trying to find his friends, you can see how disrespectful Alan (Zach Galifianakis) is, and Phil (Bradley) enjoys that disrespect. It's a subtle detail, mostly off to the side of the frame, but it's there.'
