You probably have that one friend who is 30-something but is still afraid of the dark. And we’re pretty sure that you’ve at least once made fun of them. If you’re a hundred percent sure there’s nothing to be afraid of the dark, here is some serious sh*t to change your mind!
Nyctophobia is an "an abnormal fear of night or darkness."
You might think you don't have it, but you do.
Wikipedia says it is triggered by the brain’s disfigured perception of what would, or could, happen when in a dark environment.
'It can also be temporarily triggered if the mind is unsteady or scared about recent events or ideas, or a partaking in content the brain considers a threat (examples could include indulging in horror content, witnessing vulgar actions, or having linked dark environments to prior events or ideas that disturb the mind).'
