The Philippines recently experienced a significant seismic event when a 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck off its coast. This powerful quake, centered near the province of Surigao del Sur on the island of Mindanao, occurred at a depth of just over 20 miles. Despite its strength, it primarily caused minor damage to infrastructure in the region. Unfortunately, one casualty was reported in Davao del Norte province, where a woman lost her life as a wall collapsed in her home during evacuation efforts.
