The 1979 dated Iranian revolution was started by the overthrow of Mohammed Reza Shah Pavlavi. The revolution was led by Ayatollah Khomeini and transformed Iran into a new country. Khomeini created a new regime, developed through the rules of Shia Islam. One of the first actions of this regime was to fight against women's freedom.

1. Before the revolution, women were not allowed to cover their heads. After the revolution, covering the head became compulsory for all women.
