Here are some facts about the show and Pablo Escobar that not many people know!

Caution: The content involves a small dosage of spoilers!

1. Let's start with the most impressive one: The lead actor, Wagner Moura, who gives life to Pablo Escobar, didn't speak Spanish before the series.

The Brazilian actor, whose mother tongue is Portuguese, learned Spanish for Narcos!

2. The title of the show "Narcos" comes from the Spanish word "narcotraficante," which means 'drug trafficker'.

3. Thanks to the fortune he made from drugs (20 billion dollars), Pablo Escobar became one of the richest people in the world.

As it is also mentioned in the show, Escobar made around $70 million per week when business was 'good'.

4. 2 million dollars from his hidden stash of drug money went to waste weekly only because mice bit through the banknotes.

5. The sentence Pablo uttered when he first met his lawyer, Fernando Doque, in the series is a quotation from Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

"No, not rich. I am a poor man with money, which isn't the same thing."

6. In the show, Escobar explains why he engages in terrorist actions that endanger the public during a meeting with his lawyer.

The sentences here are exactly the same as the ones real-life Pablo Escobar said during a phone call.

7. Maurice Compte, who depicts Colonel Carrillo, the character in the Medellin Cartel who caused a lot of damage and had Pablo's cousin Gustavo killed, played a hit man that worked for the Cartel in Breaking Bad.

...and he didn't receive any, obviously.

9. Let's move on to the weapons used in the show!💥🔫

The guns used in the show are Uzi clones, and are called Ekol ASI and work without bullets. Also, we see another Uzi model on screen: Para Ordnance Model 85, which were produced temporarily in 80s as paintball guns!

10. The reason why Wagner Moura got to play Pablo Escobar is his role in the film Elite Squad: a police captain who fights against drug lords.

This role is probably one of Wagner Moura's best works.

11. The famous Oscar-winner actor Adrien Brody makes a short appearance in the fifth episode of the second season.

This is called a "cameo" in show business and is pretty common in Hollywood.

12. Mauricio Mejía, who depicts Carlos of the Castaño brothers (leaders of the extreme right organization), had played Pablo Escobar in two different films before.

13. These two guys, who clink glasses together upon watching the news about Pablo Escobar's death in a pub in the USA in the final episode of the second season, are our very own agent Murphy and Pena!

BONUS: Narcos, which has millions of fans, guaranteed its 3rd and 4th season due to the great success it has achieved!

Until the next season!
